Up US 36 and onto I-70 early, back down before the afternoon queue, and in your own backyard before the light goes. No resort reservation, no thirty-dollar parking, and no sitting in a hotel hot tub with eleven strangers and a pool noodle.
It works the same for a day on the trails at White Ranch, a long ride out toward Boulder, or a morning spent standing on the touchline at Westminster City Park in February. The pattern is identical: cold, tired, and twenty minutes from feeling human again.

A sauna does something a hot tub does not: dry heat, no chemistry to think about, and it is ready in less time than it takes to change. It is the easier of the two to use on a weeknight. A hot tub is the better of the two for company, for conversation, and for standing outside in the snow while being warm.
Plenty of people who buy one come back for the other within a couple of years. If you already suspect that is you, the useful thing is to plan the electrical supply for both at the same time. Getting an electrician out once rather than twice is worth more than any discount we could offer you.

Which way does your yard face?
The open, newer subdivisions west of Sheridan and out toward Standley Lake have the views, and they pay for them in wind coming down off the foothills. An exposed spa loses heat faster with the cover off, and — more to the point — the walk from the back door stops being appealing.
What actually helps
A fence line, a run of planting, a garage wall, or tucking the spa against the house. None of it is expensive, and all of it is far easier to arrange before the pad is poured than after.
Older Westminster, newer Westminster
The established streets nearer 72nd tend to have mature trees and more natural shelter, but tighter access. The newer developments have the opposite problem. Worth knowing which of the two you are solving for.
Covers earn their keep here
If you buy one upgrade, buy a better cover. It does more for running cost and for heat retention in an exposed yard than almost anything else, and it is the part most likely to be quietly under-specified elsewhere.

Our yard is really exposed. Is that a problem?
It is a siting question rather than a dealbreaker. Put the spa where a fence, a wall or planting takes the worst of the wind, and spend the money on a good cover. Both are much easier to arrange before the pad goes in.
Should we get a sauna as well?
Plenty of people up here end up with both. If you think you might, plan the electrical supply for the pair at once — one electrician visit instead of two is worth more than any promotion.
Do you cover Broomfield, Arvada and Thornton?
Yes, along with Northglenn and the Standley Lake neighbourhoods. Delivery and service both.
How cold is too cold to use it?
There is not really a too cold. Below about zero the practical concerns are the walk out, keeping the path clear, and where the snow lands when it comes off the cover. The water is the easy part.
